Dr. Michael Dodge Moderates Panel at ABA Air & Space Law Conference

Dr. Michael Dodge attended American Bar Association Air & Space Law Conference Update, held on February 26 in Washington D.C. where he was the moderator for a panel called “Space Law Update Panel: the SPACE Act and Beyond!” At this panel, Dr. Dodge directed a group of private industry and governmental personnel in a discussion on the recent space law passed last November by the Congress and President Obama. Dr. Dodge’s task was to work with these panelists to explain the methods, motivations, and implications of these changes to the law including the recognition that private companies can go to space to mine resources and important additions to current law, such as the inclusion of a new definition for “government astronauts”.
