Arturo Ortiz, SpSt M.Sc. 2015, presented a technical paper at the 45th International Conference on Environmental Systems (ICES), held at Seattle on July 12-16, 2015.  The paper was based on Ortiz’s M.Sc. thesis, and was coauthored with UND Associate Professors Vadim Rygalov and Pablo de León.  Dr. Rygalov was the thesis advisor. Dr. Paul Hardersen assisted in a two-day workshop held at Concordia College in Irving, CA, on June 9th – 10th titled, “Student Research and Robotic Telescopes.”  Dr. Hardersen is a co-organizer of the event and presented two talks, one will highlighted the UND Space Studies Observatory.

Dr. Vadim Rygalov participated in the International Workshop on Bio-Regenerative Life Support Systems development in Turin, Italy, May 18th – 19th  with a paper and presentation titled, “BIOS-3: Russian Experience in Bio-Regenerative Life Support for Space.”  This presentation was given remotely from the newly complete Space Studies conference room, The Well.
