Bridget Grathwohl awarded the 2024 North Dakota Law Review Outstanding Note Award

The North Dakota Law Review held their annual end-of-year banquet on Thursday, April 12, at the University of North Dakota Memorial Union.

At the banquet, second-year law student Bridget Grathwohl was honored with the prestigious Outstanding Note Award. The State Bar Association of North Dakota along with the North Dakota Bar Foundation carefully select this award each year from among the Notes chosen for publication in the North Dakota Law Review. Judge Theodore T. Sandberg presented Bridget with the award, which comes with a monetary prize.

Ms. Grathwohl’s Note researched the implications of deepfakes, remarkably realistic videos generated by artificial intelligence, on procedures for authenticating evidence in North Dakota courtrooms. Her research will soon be published in the upcoming issue of the NDLR.

Judge Alice Senechal gave the keynote address discussing how the written word is the main tool of the legal profession. Ediotrs and board members of the NDLR were honored for their commitment to legal scholarship throughout the year.
