UND Law Student Naomi Bromke to Present Research on Constitutional Equal Protection
UND School of Law 3L Naomi Bromke will present, “Understanding the Equal Protection Clause,” on Monday, November 2, at 7 p.m. The presentation, hosted by UND Students for Life, will examine legal questions concerning the Fourteenth Amendment’s Equal Protection Clause following the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision inĀ Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization.
Drawing on her recently published article in the North Dakota Law Review, Bromke will discuss the legal arguments surrounding unborn personhood, relevant judicial precedent, and the constitutional implications of recognizing unborn children as persons under the law.
The presentation will also address state and federal legislative efforts concerning equal protection for unborn children and examine how these efforts intersect with constitutional interpretation, existing state laws, and proposed legislation.
The event will take place in the Memorial Union Room 139 and is free and open to the public. Pizza will be provided.
