Professor Jim Grijalva Presents at Washburn University’s Inaugural Event

On Sept. 18, 2026, Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, Kansas, launched its Center for Resources, Environment & Energy Law with an academic conference exploring the future of these critical legal fields. James Grijalva, Lloyd and Ruth Friedman Professor of law, was invited to participate in the Center’s Great Plains Environmental Law Summit, where he joined a panel of experts to discuss The Future of Energy and Indigenous Law. Professor Grijalva addressed business opportunities and regulatory challenges for tribal governments in energy and development, as well as the potential impacts on Indigenous environmental interests.
