Centrally funded hazardous waste disposal!

Introducing the creation of the Hazardous waste disposal funded centrally in the safety office for the University of North Dakota!

One of the main reasons why solid, hazardous, and chemical waste management is neglected on college campuses is the prioritizing the funding for disposable vs other departmental expenses. As the world becomes more conscious of environmental issues, the demand for smart waste management solutions is on the rise. To optimize waste collection, disposal, and recycling processes, as well as leading the way to more sustainable and efficient operations the Office of the VPFO has authorized a centralized solution for solid, hazardous, and chemical waste at the University of North Dakota. Starting and growing a smart waste management service requires adequate financing and capital investment.  The creation centralized hazardous waster disposable funding source will help alleviate the excess chemical storage as has been seen in the past within departments.  This change will also streamline the disposal process.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Marc Simpson MSP, CEM, WES, SAC

Director for Safety
