Policies Open for Campus Comment: We Want Your Input

  • Preventing & Responding to Hazing – Comments due March 1
UND recognizes that membership in organizations can enrich the student experience; however, this benefit must never come at the expense of personal safety or well-being. Hazing is an abuse of power and trust. It undermines group unity, which should be built on mutual respect and integrity. The Stop Campus Hazing Act (SCHA) amended the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act (Clery Act) to include additional requirements for institutions of higher education related to the prevention, reporting, and sharing of information related to hazing.
  • University Code of Conduct – Comments due March 3
The UND Code of Conduct is designed to establish clear guidelines for professional behavior among all individuals acting on behalf of the University, including executive officers, employees, student employees, volunteers, and other representatives. This policy aims to communicate the University’s expectations of conduct, ensuring that members of the UND community uphold ethical, legal, and professional standards as they work toward the institution’s mission of delivering exceptional educational experiences through high-quality teaching, innovative research, and meaningful engagement to the community of the university.

Revised Policies: Updates and Changes

We have revised existing policies. Updates may range from editorial adjustments to more substantial changes. Editorial revisions aim to clarify language, streamline policy flow, and update essential information, such as contact details and hyperlinks.

Some revisions are more substantive and affect what is allowed, prohibited, or required to do. These adjustments ensure policies remain aligned with organizational goals and regulatory standards. Additionally, policies can undergo conforming updates to align them with external regulations and industry standards. This helps ensure our policies comply with evolving legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Sponsored Program Cost Share – three-year review; editorial revisions
