Cisco VPN Replacement
VPN, which stands for virtual private network, is a tool UND uses to securely connect to the UND network. The current VPN solution, Cisco, is reaching the end of its support in May 2023. UND will be transitioning to Global Protect VPN mid-May. The new solution will provide added security and seamless connection to the UND network. This software will be installed on your computer automatically. As a result, more information will be provided as it becomes available. A knowledge base article will also be available with step-by-step instructions on how to connect to the UND network with the new VPN solution.
Student Portal App
Since the My UND Student Portal App launch, there have been a total of 2,956 downloads. The mobile app serves as a virtual one-stop for students, allowing access to Blackboard and Campus Connection, UND events, bus schedules, and much more. Phase 2 of this project is currently underway, which will bring multiple improvements. As of now, there have been 11 new opt-in channels added: Aerospace, Business, Education & Human Development, Medicine & Health Sciences, Dining, Engineering & Mines, Arts & Sciences, Law, Nursing & Professional Disciplines, Wellness Center, and Diversity & Inclusion. The relevant college or department will manage these channels to disseminate important information as needed. The Housing Module has been newly updated. A Parents & Families Persona has also been added for resources specific to parents or families that have a current UND student.
If you haven’t already done so, download the app and check out everything My UND has to offer!
Security
NDUS and UND are now using Armorblox to provide an automatic review and removal of emails reported by using the Report as Phishing button. Once reviewed, Armorblox is configured to send an automated email informing you if it was determined as Safe, Spam, or Malicious. Find out how to report a phishing email in the UIT knowledge base.
