Alexandra Hagen named UND Student Employee of the Year

Alexandra Hagen, a UND senior from Glenwood, Minn., has been named the University of North Dakota Student Employee of the Year. The Student Employee of the Year is a program sponsored by the National Student Employment Association. Hagen has worked three and-a-half years as a clerical assistant for Disability Services for Students and is seeking a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design Technology.

Donna Ellertson, administrative assistant, as Hagen’s supervisor, nominated her for her outstanding communication skills and attention to detail. “Alex has provided valuable insights and training to members of other colleges and universities just starting e-text production. Her ability to communicate with people of all generations is a definite asset.” Ellertson said.

The UND Student Employee of the Year recipient receives a $500 award and her name will be listed on the Student Employee of the Year plaque. Hagen’s nomination form has been submitted to the Midwest Association of Student Employment Administrators Regional Student Employee of the Year Committee. The Regional Student Employee of the Year will be named in March and submitted to the National Student Employee of the Year Committee.

Six nominations were submitted by UND department supervisors. Alexandra will be recognized April 30 during the Memorial Union Leadership Awards.
