UND sociologist Curt Stofferahn named secretary of Rural Sociological Society

Curtis W. Stofferahn, professor in Department of Sociology—part of the College of Arts and Science—has been elected to a three year term as secretary of the Rural Sociological Society (RSS).

Stofferahn previously served as an elected member of the RSS Council, has been chair and vice chair of the RSS Professional Communications Committee, and has served on the membership, editorial, development and 75th Anniversary committees of the society.

This is the first time that anyone from UND has served in elected leadership of the Society.

The RSS is a professional social science association that promotes the generation, application and dissemination of sociological knowledge. The Society seeks to enhance the quality of rural life, communities and the environment.
