ULead wants to promote your event for student leadership certificates
ULead is a leadership certificate that students can earn by attending and experiencing various campus events throughout the academic year. The goal is for students to enhance and expand their leadership skills in an intentional format.
In order to earn their ULead certificate, students participate in a number of ULead approved events and a variety of service opportunities. Of the approved events, students complete at least one in every ULead category. These five categories are:
- Academic Development
- Career Development
- Organizational Development
- Personal Development
- Diversity
Those who complete the requirements by the spring deadline earn a certificate at the Memorial Union Leadership Awards.
Would you or your department have an event that would be applicable to this type of program for the 2010-2011 academic year? Your department would not need to do anything additional for this program; students will verify their own attendance through an online database. If you have a program or event that you believe to fall within one of the five categories listed above, please let us know by providing the following information:
- Program/Event name:
- Presenter:
- Date and Time:
- Location:
- Any additional information (i.e. cost, limited to certain student populations, needed materials, etc.):
Some examples of programs include seminars, academic presentations, field trips, career fairs, conferences, department events, presentations given at past conferences, guest speakers, etc. The Student Involvement Office would be happy to add your event to the ULead schedule anytime throughout the academic year; however, we hope to have the first release of the schedule available at the Involvement Expo. If possible, please get us the event information by Aug. 4 if you hope to make this first release.
If you intend on promoting your event, the Student Involvement Office will provide you with the ULead logo to use in your promotional materials. If you are interested in marketing the overall ULead program to your students, let us know as we would be happy to give you additional promotional materials and information.
