Wind Ensemble, University Band announce 2010-2011 season

UND concert bands—comprising the Wind Ensemble and University Band—are set for another upbeat season of music, with several performances on campus and on the road, under the direction of James Popejoy. The 2010-2011 performance schedule for the two ensembles is listed below.

“We have a terrific program here at UND, and we’re always looking to provide quality music education experiences for our students at all levels, developing a high level of musicianship, and teaching music through performance,” said Popejoy, who holds a doctorate in conducting with a minor in jazz studies from the University of North Texas.

• Nov. 30 – Wind Ensemble and University Band with Grand Forks Trombone Choir
• March 3 – Wind Ensemble and University Band with Grand Cities Children’s Choir
• April 27 – Wind Ensemble and University of Brandon Symphonic Band
• April 28 – University Band and Basketball Band “POPS” Concert (Memorial Union)
• May 14 – Wind Ensemble – UND Spring Commencement (Alerus Center)
