Faculty sought to teach summer K-12 educator workshops

Are you planning to offer a summer workshop, conference or seminar for educators supported by your college or academic department, or have an idea for one? If so, we are looking for you. Each summer, Continuing Education’s Office of Professional Development for Educators (PDE) partners with university faculty members to provide professional development (PD) credit for graduate level workshops.

If you want to share your research, expertise, or have specific content or teaching strategies that you are passionate about and want to share, consider providing a short-term, 15 instructional hour, site-based workshop, hybrid or online course this summer.

Some academic departments have been able to offer summer workshops (online or face-to-face) with grant or department support. If this is not possible, stipends for workshop facilitators can be arranged through agreements with PDE. Assistance is provided through PDE for classroom scheduling, audio visual equipment arrangements, and handout duplication.

Please contact Kim Jones at 777-4225 to discuss your ideas and possible scheduling. Tentative syllabi and schedules should be submitted by Feb. 14. Look at our online submission forms to see the requirements for professional development credit approval at http://educators.und.edu/creditapproval/creditapprovalrequest.cfm
