Graphics and Photography Society holds UND 24/7 Photography Contest

On your mark, get set, ready—shoot those pictures. The Graphics and Photography Society (GaPS) student organization and the Memorial Union are sponsoring the 7th annual UND 24/7 Photography Contest.

Photographs considered for judging must be taken on the UND Campus, include people, and shot between Nov. 1 and Feb. 15.

“We want to see what UND life really looks like 24 hours, 7 days a week,” said Lynda Kenney, a graphics and photography professor in the Department of Technology who serves as advisor to the Graphics and Photography Society. The theme for this contest is “The Faces of UND.”

All photographs must be digital, and in color. In addition, they must be 8×10 inches and 300 ppi resolution, or 2400 x 3000 pixels in size.

There will be a grand prize, along with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards. The winning photographs will receive prizes and be displayed on the Graphics and Photography Society’s webpage, at a Memorial Union exhibition, then printed on canvas and permanently displayed in the Memorial Union-Swanson Hall tunnel.

There is no entry fee or limit to the number of photos you may submit. However, photographs may not have been previously published.

The UND 24/7 Photography Contest is free and open to everyone. Photographs will be judged based on content expression, composition elements, and technical quality. The contest deadline has been extended to Feb. 15. Submit your photographs to und.24.7@gmail.com.

For questions, contact Lynda Kenney, advisor to the Graphics and Photography Society student organization, at 777-2197 or lynda.kenney@und.edu.
