Veldhouse joins Center for Rural Health

Darrel Veldhouse has joined the Center for Rural Health (CRH) at the School of Medicine and Health Sciences.

Veldhouse is a web project coordinator for the Rural Assistance Center (RAC) project at the CRH. In this position, he is responsible for maintaining quality user experience and usability of the RAC web sites, analyzing web site traffic, and assisting the CRH’s technical team in design and development tasks.

Before joining the CRH, Veldhouse worked in corporate communications for Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota, where he was the team leader of the multimedia team. Veldhouse has a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics and mass communications with a minor in business administration from North Dakota State University. He is originally from Norcross, Minn.

Established in 1980, the Center for Rural Health is one of the nation’s most experienced rural health organizations. It has developed a full complement of programs to assist researchers, educators, policymakers, health care providers and, most importantly, rural residents to address changing rural environments by identifying and researching rural health issues, analyzing health policy, strengthening local capabilities, developing community-based alternatives, and advocating for rural concerns.
