Kopplin to present seminar on intellectual property basics

Tara Kopplin, licensing assistant, Intellectual Property Commercialization and Economic Development Office at UND, will present a seminar titled “Intellectual Property Basics” in the Biology Department on Friday, Jan. 13,  beginning at noon in 141 Starcher Hall.

The Office of Intellectual Property Commercialization and Economic Development (IPCED) is responsible for protection and commercialization of University research innovations including aerospace sciences, computer sciences, medicine and health sciences, engineering and physical sciences.

Kopplin has been with IPCED since January 2007 as a licensing assistant and is responsible for the commercialization of engineering and physical science-related technologies. She is also an active member of the Association of University Technology Managers and the Licensing Executive Society. Prior to working at UND, she earned her B.S. in chemical engineering and her M.S. in environmental engineering from UND.  She also has spent time interning at Cargill Corn Milling as a process engineer.
