Remembering Wayne Carl

Wayne A. Carl, retired flooring installer, 71, of Grand Forks passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Altru Hospital, Grand.

Wayne A. Carl was born on Dec. 23, 1943 in Grand Forks, the son of Jess and Carrie (Frye) Carl. He graduated from Sacred Heart School in East Grand Forks. He married Susan Gerszewski.

Wayne worked for UND as a flooring installer from October 1989 until his retirement in 2014, marking 25 years at the University.

He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Grand Forks. Wayne served in the Army Reserves from 1965 to 1971.

He is survived by his wife Susan; sisters, Maryln (Keith) Barry, Rita Zahradka, both of Grand Forks; sister-in-law, Anita Carl; several wonderful nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.

A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, Feb. 7, at 11 a.m. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Grand Forks.

Visitation will be on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 South 42nd St., Grand Forks. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery in the spring.
