Students will attend international space conference

Two students have been awarded grants to cover expenses to attend an international conference.

The Future Space Leaders Foundation recently awarded nine students across the United States grants to cover expenses associated with participating in the 67th International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in Guadalajara, Mexico. Of those, Kavya Manyapu, a Ph.D. candidate in UND’s Space Studies Department as well as a flight crew operations chief on the CST-100 Starliner Program at The Boeing Company; and Brittany Zimmerman, a master’s degree student with UND Space Studies, will represent the University at the conference.

Along with attending the IAC, the nine grant winners also will enjoy other opportunities in the space and satellite industry.

Manyapu is a native of Hyperbad, India; while Zimmerman is from San Bernardino, Calif.
