Remembering Dorothy Lunski
Dorothy Ann Lunski, retired Dining Services worker, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Nov. 23, 2019 at Valley Senior Living in Grand Forks. She was 83.
Dorothy was born April 22, 1936, in Grafton to Valentine and Amelia (Wesolowski) Rolczynski of Warsaw, N.D. Her parents moved to Alvarado, Minn., where she was raised on the family farm. She attended school and helped her dad in the fields.
Dorothy was united in marriage to Clarion Lunski on Nov. 15, 1955. They resided in Grand Forks. Clarion preceded her in death on Jan. 29, 2016.
Dorothy worked at UND Dining Services for 36 years. She was an honorary member of the National Association of Residence Halls Honorary (NRHH) and a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Dorothy loved to cook and bake which she enjoyed sharing with others. She also enjoyed crocheting.
Dorothy is survived by brother, Dominic Rolczynski; sister, Rose Marie Altendorf; sister-in-law, Kitty Rolezynski as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarion; her parents; brother, Henry; brother-in-law, Ray Altendorf and sister-in-law, Jean Rolczynski.
Mass of Christian Burial: 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 27 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Grand Forks, with visitation one hour prior to the mass in the church.
Interment: Calvary North Cemetery in Grand Forks.
