April 2: Dean’s Hour panel will celebrate 40th anniversary of the Center for Rural Health
A Dean’s Hour panel discussion is set for Thursday, April 2, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Center for Rural Health (CRH). The one-hour event will begin at noon at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine & Health Sciences in Grand Forks, North Dakota, in the Charles H. Fee, MD, Auditorium.
The CRH was founded in 1980 with one staff member and a $73,000 allocation from the North Dakota Legislature. Today, the CRH employs nearly 60 people and has a budget of $7.6 million. The Dean’s Hour event will include a look at the CRH’s history as well as its plans for the future.
The panel will include:
- Mary Wakefield, who served as the CRH’s director from 2001 to 2009.
- Gary Hart, who has served as the CRH director since 2010.
- Brad Gibbons, CRH deputy director and the only employee to work with all four CRH directors.
- Collette Adamsen, director of the National Resource Center on Native American Aging at the CRH.
- Stacy Kusler, workforce specialist at the CRH.
- Kristine Sande, an associate director at the CRH and director of the Rural Health Information Hub.
