Remembering Alice Goschen

Alice Goschen, former X-ray technician at UND Student Health, age 82 of East Grand Forks, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Nov. 1, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.

Goschen was born April 25, 1940, in Grand Forks, the daughter of Theodore and Bergine (Egeland) Bestland. She grew up in Bygland, Minn., and graduated from East Grand Forks Central High School in 1958. She attended Colorado Women’s College. On May 25, 1962, she was united in marriage to Wayne Goschen at Bygland Lutheran Church. She worked for the Grand Forks Clinic and then eventually University of North Dakota Student Health as an X-ray Technician until her retirement. She enjoyed rosemaling, gardening, quilting and spending time with her grandchildren.

Goschen is survived by children, Kris (Greg) Roufs of East Grand Forks, Minn., Ron (Val) Goschen of Montgomery, Minn., and Kari (Donavan) Wald of East Grand Forks, Minn.; four grandchildren, Erika and Andrew Roufs both of East Grand Forks, Minn., Natalie Wald of Rochester, Minn., and Gina Wald of East Grand Forks, Minn. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Wayne, and four brothers, Ardell, John, Ray and Ronnie.

Her funeral service was on Monday, Nov. 7, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in East Grand Forks, Minn.
