Oct. 9: UND Libraries to host panel and discussion on ‘AI in the Classroom’

Chester Fritz Library, the SMHS Library, and Thormodsgard Law Library will host a panel and discussion at the Chester Fritz Library on Monday, Oct. 9, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in Room 406.

Three libraries at UND have come together to create programming focused on providing faculty, staff, the University community and the general public with a space to share experiences teaching with AI and learn from others.

The first talk is titled “AI in the Classroom” and will feature Associate Professor Virginia Clinton-Lisell from the College of Education & Human Development, Associate Professor Sean Hammond from Earth System Science & Policy, and Senior Lecturer Dominick Steinhauer from Mechanical Engineering. Each speaker has actively engaged with AI in the classroom, or helped plan for this revolution within their departments, and can give their insight into the promises and pitfalls incorporating AI into learning.

Instructors and community members are invited to gain insight from these experts as well as share their own experiences on how generative AI impacts instruction and university students. We believe all who attend will learn from this great opportunity.

Please RSVP and submit any questions you may have for panelists.
