Remembering Brody Counts

On Monday, April 20, 2026, the University of North Dakota learned of the passing of UND student Brody Counts. Brody was from Delaware, Ohio, and was a first-year student pursuing majors in History and Secondary Education.

We extend our deepest condolences to Brody’s family, friends, classmates and fellow Brannon Hall residents. They are all in our thoughts and prayers.

The loss of a member of our UND community affects us all, and the University offers several resources to support students, faculty and staff, which are referenced below.

Brody’s passing is a huge loss for his family, friends and the UND community. Please take some time to remember the impact Brody had on our campus and, whenever possible, come together to support one another.
