Remembering Kirsten Dauphinais

Kirsten Dauphinais, 54, a former professor of Law at the UND School of Law, died on Saturday, July 18, in Grand Forks.

Originally from Oswego, NY, and a graduate of the Columbia University School of Law, Dauphinais served UND from 2005 until January 2026.

In 2011, she was named to the Law School Builders of the Profession Professor of Law Endowed Professorship.

At the School of Law, Dauphinais also served as director of Lawyering Skills and director of Bar Passage and Academic Success. A tribute to her more than two decades of service is available to read on the North Dakota Law blog.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, at Amundson Funeral Home in Grand Forks. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 23, at Amundson Funeral Home.
