Retirement celebration for Lynette Krenelka is Oct. 20
The University community is invited to a retirement gathering honoring Lynette Krenelka, director for the Teaching Transformation & Development Academy and the Office of Extended Learning, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 20, in O’Kelly Hall, Room 343.
Refreshments will be served.
Krenelka’s UND career started as a medical secretary working for the OB/GYN Residency Department and Dr. Gail Roen Pearson, a private practice psychologist. She later worked as an administrative assistant with the Center for Rural Health and moved into the position of grants coordinator.
Krenelka went on to work within the Division of Continuing Education as a funding and grants administrator, managing the Corporate Engineering degree program and working with all of UND’s distance degree programs. She directed Lifelong Learning & Professional Development within the Division of Continuing Education until she became director.
She currently directs the Office of Extended Learning and the Teaching Transformation & Development Academy.
Proud moments for Krenelka included teaching a grant-writing course in the self-paced enroll anytime format and presenting grant writing workshops across the United States with her colleague, Karen Berthold. She worked with many amazing colleagues within the Office of Extended Learning, Teaching Transformation & Development Academy and throughout UND. She also co-chaired the UND Strategic Planning Committee.
As she concludes her career, Krenelka plans to travel and spend more time with extended and immediate family: her husband, Brent; her children and their partners, Maddelyn and Tanner, and Carter and Courtney, who live in Wichita, Kans.; and her grandchildren, August, Otis and Ruth.
