May 24: Farewell open house honors Sol Jensen

sol jensen open houseYou’re invited to join us at an open house for Sol Jensen, Assistant Vice President for Admissions and Financial Aid, 3-5 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, at the Gorecki Alumni Center, Gransberg Room.

During his 4 ½ years at North Dakota, AVP Jensen oversaw the Offices of Admissions (undergraduate), Student Financial Aid, Student Affairs Technology, Marketing & Creative Services, and UND Today.  In this time, the incoming classes have set all-time records for academic quality (from 3.33 to 3.46 average high school GPA), which have also assisted in improving first-year retention rates.  Jensen also implemented a centralized scholarship application, two new scholarship programs for incoming students, set up a new confirmation tuition deposit and admission deadline, and improved the overall data-driven culture at UND.

Since July 2016, he has also overseen a more centralized marketing and communications team and has been integral in the origination of several major projects:  UND Today, UND brand development and strategy (to be completed in June), redevelopment of the UND website (to be completed in spring 2018), and the development of digital advertising campaigns directed to mobile-friendly academic landing pages.

He will assume the role of Vice President of Enrollment Management, Marketing & Communications at Northern Illinois University in mid-June.  Prior to arriving at North Dakota, he served as the executive director of enrollment at Washington State University.
