Nov. 13-15: Geography Awareness Week
The Department of Geography & Geographic Information Science invites the campus and greater community to celebrate the 2018 Geography Awareness Week (Nov. 11-17) and GIS Day (Nov. 14) with us. The following events have been planned on UND campus:
Tuesday, Nov. 14
Geography & GISc Department O’Kelly Hall Room 116: 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
- Student research presentations
- Web app demonstrations of story maps
- Food and refreshments served
Memorial Union first floor 11 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., Geography Awareness Week Information Booth
- “Where do you call home?” activity
- Wheel and trivia questions with candy prizes
Memorial Union Lecture Bowl, 7 p.m.
- Movie, “Jiro Dreams of Sushi” (in collaboration with International Education Week)
Wednesday, Nov. 14, GIS Day
Geography & GISc Department O’Kelly Hall first floor: 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
- Student research posters

- Geography Forum: “Enterprise GIS: From Broom Closet to the Board Room” (Peter Metzger, Minnkota Power Cooperative)
