VIDEO: How UND students are operating satellites in space
Next generation of space leaders gets hands-on experience by launching, operating North Dakota’s first-ever commissioned satellites
Editor’s note: In recent weeks, UND’s video team has produced videos on a range of topics, including one that documents the University’s successful launch of North Dakota’s state’s first-ever commissioned satellites, ROADS One and Two.
The satellites were launched into low Earth orbit via a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. The video takes viewers behind the scenes of that process and features interviews with UND faculty and students. Among other highlights, the interviewees describe the thrill of establishing telemetry with the satellites – confirming “they’re alive!” and functioning as expected.
