PHOTOS: Time Out Wacipi Powwow celebrates culture, community
University photographers capture all angles of annual celebration at Alerus Center

This year marked the 54th annual Time Out Wacipi Powwow, hosted by the University of North Dakota, and University photographers captured the festivities from all angles.
Held April 17 and 18 at the Alerus Center, the Wacipi (wah-chee-pee) featured its traditional lineup of singing and dancing, both in celebration and competition.
Among other celebrations each spring at the event, the UND Indians into Medicine program, or INMED, recognizes its students’ achievements. Elders, advisory board members and honored guests drape graduates with a quilt in acknowledgement of their accomplishments and contribution to their communities.
An extensive portfolio of these moments and others is available to view on Exposure, courtesy of UND staff photographers. Enjoy!
