Per the U.S. Department of Education: The CARES Act Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund-IHE/Student Aid provides funding to institutions to provide emergency financial aid grants to students. Furthermore, institutions have the responsibility of determining how grants will be distributed to students and how the amount of each student grant is calculated. As stated above, institutions are responsible for determining awards; UND financial aid awarded emergency grant funding to undergraduate students. Medical (and graduate/law) students were not awarded emergency grants.
