May 2021 BONUS: Podcast Worth Sharing

As a bonus blog post in May, we are sharing a recent podcast that featured Ms. Sherry Savage, Program Manager for the Procurement Technical Assistance Program (PTAP) at the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). Sherry talks about how PTAP is a force multiplier for the Department of Defense (DoD) Acquisition Workforce. The two goals of the PTAP are to expand the Defense Industrial Base (DIB) and to grow businesses. The DLA receives funding from the annual National Defense Authorization Act and then negotiates cooperative agreements with non-profits, Indian Tribes and State governments to operate Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (PTACs) in every state. The PTACs are staffed with government contracting experts that help both small and large businesses learn about federal contracting. They also help them become more competitive for government contracts.
