Remembering Eleanor Otto

Eleanor OttoEleanor (Janie) Otto, retired secretary in Anthropology, died arch 24 at her home in Bagley, Minn.  She was 71.

A burial of remains will be held on Saturday, May 26, at 3 p.m. at Holy Rosary Cemetery rural Lancaster, Minn. Family and friends are invited to celebrate memories of her life with fellowship and lunch following. For more information please call 218-308-1808.

Otto was born July 30, 1940, to Walter and Sophie Otto and grew up in Minnesota. She attended the University of North Dakota where she also retired.

She married Richard Wadsworth and lived in Arizona until he passed away in 1997. She later found her life partner James (Jim) Murphy who passed away March 17, 2012. They lived south of Bagley, where they built their dream home on 20 acres.

She loved wildlife, pines, and fresh air, and always made time for cooking, canning and gardening. Family and friends enjoyed her kind heart. She attended church in Bagley at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, and had an interest in youth, where she shared her time and resources.

She is survived by her daughter, Debra Wadsworth; three grandchildren; a sister, Genevieve (Stanley) Penn; and brothers, Julius Otto and Roger Otto, all of Minnesota.
