Remembering Anna Volk

Anna M Volk, retired housing worker, died Oct. 27, 2012, surrounded by her family in Valley Eldercare Center, Grand Forks.  She was 87.

Anna Marie Dosch was born on May 5, 1925, to Joseph and Barbara (Pfeiffer) Dosch in Rugby, N.D. She married Nick A. Volk on April 10, 1944 in Orrin, N.D. They lived in Burwick, N.D for many years before moving to Devils Lake. The couple moved to Grand Forks in 1962. Nicek died March 7, 1969.

Anna worked in the food industry for many years, until she began working for housing at UND.  She retired from UND in 1991.  She enjoyed gardening and flowers.

She is survived by her daughter, Diana (Bob) Tomazich, Colorado Springs, Colo.; sons, Gary, Clarence (Annette) and Vern, all of Grand Forks; five grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a sister, Lucille (Richard) Green of Arizona and a brother, Edward (Eldora), Devils Lake.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nick; parents; sisters, Teresa Kessler, Agatha Buchmeier, Agnes Hauck and Martha Miersch; and a brother, Michael.
