The Get Moving Challenge has officially started! This 4-week challenge is here to help increase your physical activity. You can register as an individual or as a team. Each week, don’t forget to log your steps or convert them from other forms of activity (swimming, strength training, stair climbing…).
According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), getting regular physical activity is one of the most important things you can do for your health! It can help control weight, reduce the risk of chronic diseases (like heart disease, cancer, obesity and diabetes), and improve your mental health and mood. It is recommended to achieve a minimum of 150 minutes a week of physical activity.
That's where the Get Moving Challenge comes in! Walking is a simple way to help reach the CDC's goal of at least 150 minutes of physical activity per week. It's easy on the joints and environmentally friendly! Challenge a co-worker or your department to get those feet moving!
