Remembering Judy DeMers

In an effort to help keep the campus community informed, “In Remembrance” publishes notices about the deaths of faculty or staff who have retired from the University.

“In Remembrance” posts must be requested by a family member or representative of the family for the individual, or the UND department that the individual worked for (with the permission of the family or next-of-kin).

Judy DeMers, 79, former associate dean for student affairs and admissions at the UND School of Medicine & Health Sciences, died March 12 in Phoenix.

DeMers retired from the SMHS in 2010 after spending 27 years as associate dean. Prior to this role, DeMers served as an associate professor and director of the Family Nurse Practitioner Program, as well as associate director of the SMHS Office of Rural Health.

A tribute to DeMers and her decades-long service to UND, written by Dr. Joshua Wynne, dean of the SMHS, is available at the School’s For Your Health website.
