A summer stipend of $1000 will be available to participate in the CEM Teaching Council Summer Teaching Development Program for up to 12 individuals. The focus this summer is student engagement for campus and online students. Applications are due by Friday May 10.

The April 11 event featured several speakers, with Wayne Seames, a Chester Fritz Distinguished Professor of Chemical Engineering at UND, serving as emcee. Seames, who also serves as the I-Corps grant faculty leader, introduced the members of the UND I-Corps team. They include Lead Instructor Amy Whitney, director of the Center for Innovation; Site Coordinator Sona Lesmeister, entrepreneur coach and start-up specialist at the Center for Innovation; and Grant Project Principal Investigator Brian Tande, dean of the UND College of Engineering & Mines.

“Tackling the challenges of UAV electromagnetic compatibility has been both exhilarating and demanding. It’s a journey where every obstacle unveils a new opportunity for innovation,” reflects Tanzim Jim Hassan, a second-year PhD student in Electrical Engineering from Bangladesh.
Chioma Onwumelu and Moones Alamooti have quite a few things in common with one another. The two women have graduated from the College of Engineering & Mines, both work at the University of North Dakota as researchers, and each has a passion for spreading awareness and inspiration for their profession. Now, they have another thing in common: they’ve written an exciting new children’s book together.
