Discover the Support You Deserve: UND’s Employee Assistance Program
At the University of North Dakota, we take pride in fostering a supportive and empowering environment for our employees.
Your well-being, both personal and professional, is paramount to our mission of cultivating a thriving community. One of the key resources we provide to ensure your holistic well-being is the Employee Assistance Program (EAP), provided through The Village Business Institute.
The EAP is a voluntary, work-based program. It’s designed to offer free and confidential services to help you navigate personal and work-related challenges. UND’s EAP provides a comprehensive range of services, including assessments, short-term counseling, referrals, and follow-up support. This tailored program addresses a wide array of issues affecting your mental and emotional well-being, such as:
- Alcohol and substance abuse
- Stress management
- Grief and loss
- Family and relationship issues
- Psychological disorders
How can the EAP Help You?
When you or a member of your household reaches out to the EAP, a professional staff member conducts an initial assessment to understand your situation. Based on this assessment, you will receive the necessary services, which may include:
- Personal Contacts with Licensed Counselors: Engage in one-on-one sessions with experienced and compassionate counselors who are equipped to provide the support and guidance you need.
- Referrals to Specialized Professionals: If your situation requires specialized expertise, you will be referred to professionals who are trained in your specific area of difficulty.
All interactions with the EAP are strictly confidential. Trust them to handle your information the utmost care and discretion, ensuring a safe space for you to seek the support you need.
Extended Support
UND recognizes the well-being of one household member can impact the entire family. Our EAP extends its services to all members of an employee’s household. This holistic approach ensures that everyone in your home has access to the support they need.
Additionally, this support doesn’t end with your employment at UND. The EAP covers employees throughout their tenure and for 90 days after employment ends, providing you with continued support during transitional periods.
Take the First Step
If you or someone in your household is experiencing personal or work-related challenges, don’t hesitate to reach out to the EAP. Remember. Seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. By utilizing the EAP, you are taking a proactive step towards a healthier, more fulfilling life.
