Standard Operating Procedure: Affiliates at UND

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are step-by-step instructions compiled by UND to help employees complete routine processes. SOPs aim to reduce miscommunication and increase efficiency, customer experience, and quality results.

The Office of Human Resources has published a Standard Operating Procedure on requesting access for UND affiliates.

An affiliate of UND is an individual brought to the campus at the request of a UND sponsoring department. Frequently, this is utilized for contractors, researchers, and partners of the University. While not employed by UND, affiliates need access to UND services to complete the assignments. Affiliates differ from Faculty Emeritus who may retain some access due to their tenure and service to the University.

To ensure clarity for campus in requesting access, the instructions and SOP were compiled to ensure all parties are familiar with the expectations and responsibilities of the affiliate, the sponsoring department/program/unit, the various auxiliary services, and the Office of Human Resources.
