Updated Leave Donation Forms
How UND staff members take care of each other when they need it most
The Donated Leave process allows eligible staff who have run out of leave to continue receiving a paycheck while they are out of work. Receiving staff may receive up to 693 hours (prorated for part-time staff) in a 12 month period per NDUS Policy 20 and NDCC 54-06-14.7. The Office of Human Resources recently updated the forms used to request and donate leave electronically.
Request to Donate Leave
You may have a staff coworker in need of leave, who would greatly appreciate your assistance! When a leave is sudden, or extended, a staff member may not have enough leave to cover their missed hours, resulting in a loss of pay. You can assist these staff members through leave donation.
You can choose to donate to a specific person (see the U-Letter Bulletin Board for approved staff) or donate to the General Leave Donation Pool. University staff may donate up to 5% of their accrued sick leave hours and any amount of annual leave (as long as they retain a balance of 40 hours or above following the donation).
Complete a Request to Donate Leave Form to submit your donation.
Requesting Donated Leave
If you are an employee out on extended leave and have exhausted all your annual and sick time to utilize, you may request leave donations if you believe your personal situation may qualify for the donated leave program criteria.
To request donations be solicited on your behalf, you must request to receive donated leave via our Request for Donated Leave Form.
